WA Regional seismic network

The Regional Seismic Net is an initiative sponsored by the Australian Centre for Geomechanics (www.acg.uwa.edu.au) in Perth, WA. It aims to give inexpensive seismic monitoring equipment to mines which are concerned about their immediate tectonic environment.

At present, it consists of five sub-networks

1) Kalgoorlie - Kambalda net

2) Leinster net

3) Broken Hill (NSW)

4) Beaconsfield (Tasmania)

5) West Coast net ( operated by Geology & Geography Dept, UWA). This net aims to add some degree of infill to the existing West Australian Seismograph net
